  • Experience in reporting for a local television station, college television station
    and/or internship experience.
  • Maximum three years related experience – no candidate with more than three years of professional experience will be considered
  • Exceptional writing, research and on-air presentation skills
  • Adept in the field and capable of responsibly handling a live news situation
  • Prior experience within the field as a general assignment reporter, reporting and/or editing news stories, ideally for both television and the Web
  • Skilled in multimedia production, including Final Cut Pro and Photoshop
  • College graduate with a solid journalism background and knowledge of the news industry
  • Ability to work independently and unilaterally with minimum on-site support and management
  • A team player who is ready to take initiative
  • Ability to relocate at a moment’s notice
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, overnights, especially for breaking news coverage
  • A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • Fox News is an EOE

APPLICATION DEADLINE is Friday June 3, 2016.

The final talent selection interviews will take place at Fox News HQ in New York City on June 21, 22,and 23. All selected final candidates must be available for all three days and are responsible for their own travel and accommodations.

Shooting with superior HD cameras, recording onto media cards and working on software editing programs, the Ailes Junior Reporters’ laptops become mobile “news hubs.” Whether providing sound bites from a press conference or full packages that they’ve researched, shot and edited, they FTP their files back to home base in one seamless and efficient process.

Well trained and field-tested, the Fox News Ailes Junior Reporters hit the ground running in breaking news situations – equipped to cover any story, their backpack kits can transmit live pictures, wireless mics that allow them to conduct interviews and hard drives to archive critical content. At a moment’s notice, they are ready to react as it all happens on scene, and are trained to make sure the most impactful high-resolution video is available for Fox News on-air.

With an additional state-of-the-art still camera that also handles HD video recordings; the Ailes Junior Reporters’ photos and videos are automatically sent back to Fox News as soon as they come in contact with Wi-Fi. Plus, ensuring that no equipment failures can stop them from getting the story, each Junior Reporter has an iPhone capable of streaming live images and guaranteeing they have a potential live shot sitting in their pocket 24/7.
