2013/2014 Fox News Channel University/Ailes Rising Apprentice Scholarship
Hofstra University is one of only two universities in the country to offer this scholarship, which is an extension of the Ailes Apprentice Program for minority journalists. The scholarship recipient will receive:
• $10,000 towards your tuition
• Paid internship – Summer 2014
• Chance to become a part of the Ailes Apprentice Program.
This scholarship is open to rising Junior or Senior students who are dedicated to enhancing diversity in the field of journalism, video/television, or a related major. One recipient will be selected on the basis of demonstrated academic achievement and an intention to pursue a career in journalism. Preference will be given to a student majoring in Journalism, Video/Television or a related major and who is from an underrepresented community.
Luz Pena ’12, our first FNCU/Ailes Rising Apprentice Scholarship recipient, is now working as a reporter for MundoFox in LA. This year’s recipient, Claudia Balthazar ‘14, will be interning this summer at Fox News Channel in NYC.
