Annual Event Honors “Women Who Change the World”

The New York Women in Communications Foundation, in conjunction with New York Women in Communications Inc., announced its 2013 scholarship recipients, who will be awarded at the annual Matrix Awards—the industry event of the year, to be held on April 22, 2013 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. This year, Claudia Balthazar, of Valley Stream, NY, who is a junior at Hofstra University, was one of the select few to receive this prestigious scholarship.

Ms. Balthazar will have the rare opportunity to be recognized with a select group of her peers during the event, which will feature Matrix Award winners and presenters including Audra McDonald, Joanna Coles, Bonnie Hammer, Ryan Seacrest, Barry Diller and Mindy Grossman among others.

“We are proud to acknowledge the accomplishments of these young women,” said Susan Schulz, president, New York Women in Communications Foundation. “Our scholarship program, now more than a decade old, represents a high standard of excellence. By honoring these students, we uphold our organization’s mission to promote professional advancement and inspire others in our industry–both young women just starting out, as well as more seasoned professionals–to be ‘Women Who Change the World.'”
