Students Selected for NBC Olympics Internship Program
Four students from the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication were selected from a competitive pool of 2,400 applicants to participate in the NBCUniversal Summer Olympics internship program in Stamford, Conn.
Patrick Shay’16 (BS, video/television and film production) and Alison Bonaviso’18 (BS, video/television and business) are assigned to be shot selectors from July 29- August 21. Their responsibilities include reviewing, logging, and making basic highlight packages for nbcolympics.com.
Ashley Smith’16 (BS, video/television) and Alexis Sansone’16 (BA, film studies and production) will be production assistants during the month of August.
All four students applied for the program through Douglas Morrow, internship coordinator for the Herbert School and an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Radio, Television, Film, who worked with Michele Roberts ’91 in the Hofstra Career Center. They students will be interning with the Olympics coverage team in the NBC Sports Group facility in Stamford. The Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from Aug. 5-21.
