RTVF 174 – Television Career Development
Semester Hours: 1
A course in which Television / RTVF majors learn to apply the liberal arts outcomes (e.g. communication skills, critical thinking, problem solving) to career transforming habits. Students will expand their professionalism, relationship-building, self-assessment and career development skills and manage their career with techniques for lifelong growth and learning while enhancing more immediate needs such as internships and first-employment. Students will work with the instructor, the Hofstra Career Center, and industry insiders to develop their own professional identities. Websites, resumes, social media, interviewing skills, and career research will be covered.
Tuesdays 4:30 PM – 5:55 PM
November 1 – December 20
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: No liberal arts credit.
